Green Class Learn About Emergency Services

We have been learning about people who help us in Green Class. We have done lots of exciting activities to help us explore our topic, here are some of our photos:

We investigated which shape bandage would be best to use if we had a broken arm and we were paramedics.


We sent our emergency service BeeBot robots to the right incidents on the map by programming them







We pretended to be police officers and made our own warrant cards

We created our own emergency vehicles using paint for our display board

After we learnt about how to call 999 in an emergency, we had a visit from the fire service on Monday. We learnt how to stop, drop and roll if our clothes were on fire, and we were very proud to show off our new knowledge that we had learnt in class.

Then on Wednesday we had a visit from PCSO Ben who came in his police car. He showed us what uniform police officers wear and we were able to ask him questions about the radio and whether he had a police dog. The best bit was seeing the police car!

Christmas Art Work

For the Christmas Performance Pink Class had been given the task of creating the Three Kings using art. Here are some photos of the students creating works of art both visually and through different textures.

Our trip to the Waie Inn

Just before Christmas we visited the Waie Inn. Students had time exploring the soft play area before they had lunch and then they they explored the play area outside.

The students behaviour throughout the day was fantastic. Everyone had a great day.

Making Pizza

Students really wanted to make Pizza last term and we decided to make them for our Winter Warmer (Social with the rest of the Key Stage).This is held in the round house in the Rural Skills Area and is becoming a termly event.

DSC02318 DSC02324 We had done a range of tasks to choose what toppings we wanted to have on our pizzas. This included pineapple, mushrooms, peppers, ham, sweetcorn and chilli.


After students had chopped up and prepared their toppings they then had to assemble their pizzas. This meant spreading tomato puree and spreading cheese. Then they could add toppings of their choice. Making some extra ones for their Key Stage friends.

Monday 20th June

This week we looked at Mexican food and focused on preparing the food, such as cutting or grating. After the food was prepared then students were able to make choices on what they wanted and try items they may not have tried before. After eating some of the foods they decided whether they liked them or not.

England, England, England

Students from around the school got together to watch England vs Wales on Thursday 16th June. Kick off was 1400 and Wales already had three points from their previous game and England, only had one. Students were only able to watch the first half due to the kick off time. Confidence was high for an England victory except for those very few Welsh fans. Hearts sank when Gareth Bale curled a free kick into the bottom corner.DSCF0024 DSCF0024

The final result was 2 – 1 England. Although Wales went on to qualify top of the group and England second.


In Pink Class we were able to use something that had recently been purchased by the ICT department. Osmo is a new add on for the iPad that allows you to use numbers, letters or shapes to carry out given tasks. For example with the letter or word pack if gives you a picture and you have to spell out the word or find the initial letter sound. With the shape pack you have to use the given shapes to match the shapes on the screen orientating them properly. Here are some photos of students working together while using the packs for the first time initially we started using the shape pack. Later on we will start using the other packs.
